This week is the last week to see Margaret & Bob's encaustic painting exhibition at the LosOsos Public Library. The exhibit will end on January 27, 2012 when the library closes. Ask the library for the price list if you are interested in purchasing something. Works include some of Bob's Asian inspired works and some of Margaret's new Waterfall series of paintings.

having a little trouble getting to our website to update, but here's the news:

1. we have some encaustic work on display at the SLO Art Center (soon to be SLOMA) in the McMeen gallery.

2. we've now done 2 "entree to encaustic" workshops at our studio (much fun for all) and have 2 more dates set aside — March 28 and April 24 (the latter very tentative). space is limited, so let us know soon if interested at bob@studiodoor.net and we'll reply with details

It is Japanese style paper with found objects, mostly shells. Enjoy!

The hills unfold in layers.

Like a woman

sharp and clear close up,

mysterious and soft from afar,

invisible at the farthest distance.

There are layers underneath as well.

Relics left by history,

by parades of warriors,

farmers and traders.

Relics embedded deep

where only archeologists and dedicated lovers

brave the exploration.

There are dreamers above the peaks

where those long dead

whisper encouragement

through the harp string trees,

anchored on rock

going down to the core.
